I have purchased several of these older books that have been converted to digital format on the cheap with subjects ranging from gardening to gun smithing. So far I have been very pleased and was hoping for the same with this purchase. This book does appear to have a lot to offer and I am going to try to not let the discrepancies I have encountered detract from the material presented. However, just within the first few pages, spelling and grammar mistakes abound. Yes the spelling of words may have been a bit different when the book was in print in 1902 but I am fairly certain Horse was not spelt Horks or Unsound as Unsoknd. The layout was a bit distracting as well with paragraphs abruptly ending and picking up under the next section or sentences that were completely out of order. I am not sure how much of this was due to the translation process or if this is how it was actually written. As with anything being presented as fact or professional opinion, it is the little things that can cause someone to question the credibility of what might otherwise be great information.Product details

It's an old book, but it's still a very worthwhile read. The soundness issue in horse sales is the big issue and this book deals with soundness more sensibly and realistically than most modern vet soundness exams that tend to nip pick and strive for perfect soundness which is unrealistic. You can easily get this book for free at Internet Archive.
